Got Milk?

My once beautifully stocked freezer of breast milk...oh how I miss thee!

This may sound like a very strange question to ask to some people (and believe me, it seemed really weird to me the first time I heard about it as well), but I'm going to ask anyway, because it's for Conner.  I am wondering if anyone out there, you, or someone you know, is pumping and is pumping extra breast milk that they don't need. Here's the situation...I just barely ran out of my frozen breast milk and last night was Conner's first night on straight formula (I was mixing half formula and half bm to make it last longer).  He didn't sleep well, and threw up a few times through the night.  When I had become pregnant, my supply went down, and soon I was only pumping 1 time a day.  I still pump once a day, during the morning, but only get about 2oz, but I feel like a tiny bit of fresh breast milk is better than nothing! I would really love for Conner to be able to get breast milk because as we all know, it's so much better for babies, and especially for Conner in his (medical) situation! If you know of someone, would you PLEASE pass along my blog info, and they can get in contact with me (or if you know my phone number, you could pass that along).  Like I said, it may seem strange to ask for someone else's breast milk, but if they are healthy and willing, I would LOVE to get some!
Did you know that humans are the only mammal who drink another mammal's milk and continue to drink milk into adulthood? Intersting, eh?

I will have a TON when my baby is born.. I produce too much, so if you still need it let me know in a few months.

Aw that's sad! I wish I knew someone who had extra milk, or who was breastfeeding at the moment. I don't even know anyone who is! I'll keep my ears open for you though. Good luck!

Okay this will sound weird, but have you ever heard of supply and demand? I know with cows that the more you milk them the more milk they will give. So I also know that in humans, it is the same way. Your body will always produce enough for your baby as long as you are eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. If I were you I would pump every 2 hours, to regain your milk supply. I know it sounds crazy, but i am pretty sure it takes about 3 days for your body to regulate it and then before you know it you will have so much milk you won't know what to do with it.=) I am pretty sure that there is an herbal tea by traditional medicinals that is called mother's milk too that helps. Good Luck and I will have milk in a few months if that is any help.

I have some I'd be willing to give you. I'd say I probably have 15 bags of like 8 oz? Use Lacey's first and then if you want mine, let me know!

P.S. If you have bags or containers to give me, I'd save more for you too.

I just read "the baldwins" post and that's what I thought too??? Are you doing it because you feel it is best or did the doc tell you to? I've never heard of that before!

Have you posted anything on the IHH facebook page or forum? Someone on there might be able to help since so many heart moms have to pump. I know I fed a couple of extra heart kids while I was still pumping. Just a thought. Good luck!

Ok. Do you have the most inspirational blog or what?! I mean, I am not a mom, so I can't help you out on this post :) I am SO sorry from the bottom of my heart for the miscarriage. I have a friend who just can't keep a baby, and it's heart wrenching. I am so happy and excited to read your blog as well :)

Your beautiful!

Hey, I just found your blog. you are amazing, and I agree with you feeding the little guy breast milk, there is no comparison, and it is the best immune builder you can get. Do you realize that weaning kids at 6-9 months or so has become a fad only in the past decade or so? In history, women have breast fed their kids until they were about 2-2 1/2 yrs old! I fed my boy until he was 18 months, and he never got sick! They will let you know when THEY are ready, where he has been so sick, it wouldn't hurt to keep him on it a little longer! your amazing, keep it up!

So I don't know if you are still looking for milk or not...or if you'll even get this, but I have a deep freezer FULL of breast milk that isn't going to get used. I pump around 10oz extra a day, on top of what Orson already eats. I've got like 10 Walmart bags FULL of the breast milk storage bags. You can have as much as you want, if you still want/need it!
